The Soul of the Soap: Essential Bergamot Oil from Calabria
Essential bergamot oil (Citrus bergamia) is extracted from the rinds of the bergamot fruit, which grows exclusively on the sun-drenched coast of Calabria in Southern Italy. This noble oil is the soul of the legendary Earl Grey tea and a precious essential oil.
Main Active Ingredients:
- Limonene (30-45%) – refreshing, mood-lifting, skin-clarifying
- Linalyl acetate (25-35%) – calming, balancing, skin-conditioning
- Linalool (5-15%) – relaxing, anti-inflammatory
- Bergapten & Bergamottin – characteristic furocoumarins (dosed for skin compatibility in our soap)

The combination of white kaolin and blue mineral pigment creates an elegant color scheme that is reminiscent of the coast of Calabria.
Production & Quality:
Cold Process Our bergamot soap is handcrafted using the traditional cold process. In this gentle process, all valuable ingredients, vitamins, antioxidants, and natural glycerin are fully preserved. The low processing temperatures particularly protect the delicate essential bergamot oil and preserve its complex fragrance profile.
After saponification, each soap ripens for at least 4-6 weeks by hand to develop a skin-friendly pH value and optimal care properties.
